Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and RoleQuest, an Ontario, Canada corporation (“RoleQuest”, “we”, “us”) and govern your use of the website at rolequest.app, the web app at app.rolequest.app and the RoleQuest Apply Chrome extension (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data.

1. The Service

RoleQuest helps you run your job search: it builds a profile from your CV, helps you discover roles, tailors CVs and answers to job postings, and, through the Chrome extension, fills in and, if you choose, submits job applications in your own browser on your behalf. RoleQuest uses AI models to do this.

RoleQuest is in early access with a small group of users. Features may change and the Service may sometimes be unavailable. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce what a paid plan includes.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
• You sign in with a Google account. Keep it secure; you are responsible for activity under your RoleQuest account.
• One person per account. Accounts are for individual job seekers, not for applying on behalf of other people.

3. Applications made on your behalf

• You are the applicant. Every application RoleQuest makes is made on your instruction and in your name. You authorise RoleQuest to enter information and upload documents from your account into application forms you ask it to complete.
• Accuracy is your responsibility. You confirm that the information in your profile and CV is true. RoleQuest tailors from your real experience, but AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Review tailored documents and answers; if you enable auto-submit, applications may be sent without a further review step.
• Third-party sites. Job boards, employer sites and applicant tracking systems have their own terms, and some restrict automated use. You are responsible for deciding where RoleQuest applies for you and for complying with those sites' terms. We are not responsible for actions those sites take on your accounts.
• No outcome guaranteed. We do not guarantee that any application will be submitted successfully, read, or lead to an interview or job offer. An application may be skipped or fail; RoleQuest will tell you why when it can.

4. The Chrome extension

The extension needs permission to access websites so it can read and fill in application forms on whatever site a job is hosted on. It acts only on applications and LinkedIn job searches you start in RoleQuest and does not read your cookies or saved passwords. See the Privacy Policy for details. You can remove the extension at any time from Chrome.

5. Plans, billing and cancellation

• RoleQuest offers a free plan and paid monthly plans, as described on our pricing page. Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes unless stated.
• Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing settings in the app; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Each plan includes a monthly fair-use AI budget. Budgets reset monthly and do not roll over. They are a safeguard against unexpected AI spend, not stored credit, and have no cash value. When a budget is used up, AI features may pause until the next period or until you upgrade.
• Refunds: if you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you may withdraw from a new paid subscription within 14 days of buying it by emailing support@rolequest.app, and we will refund that payment in full. Otherwise payments are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next billing period after the notice.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• submit false, misleading or someone else's information in applications;
• use RoleQuest to send spam, harass anyone, or apply in bulk to roles you have no genuine interest in;
• attempt to access other users' data, probe or disrupt the Service, or circumvent its limits or fair-use budgets;
• reverse engineer, resell or build a competing service from the Service, except where the law allows; or
• use the Service in breach of any law.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of your CV, profile and everything else you upload (“your content”), and of the documents RoleQuest tailors for you. You give us a licence to store, process and transmit your content only as needed to provide the Service to you, including sending it to our service providers and to the employers you apply to. We do not use your content to train AI models.

8. Our property

The Service, including its software, design and the RoleQuest name and brand, belongs to RoleQuest and its licensors. These terms do not give you any rights to them other than to use the Service as described here.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties such as Google (sign-in), Stripe (payments), AI model providers and optional integrations such as Gmail. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms.

10. Suspension and termination

You can stop using RoleQuest and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Where reasonable we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms affects rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by contract.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, RoleQuest is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost opportunities, or actions taken by employers or third-party sites, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Ontario. This does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim in its courts.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you continue to use the Service after that, the new terms apply.
